This made news recently: Google Shut down Its Answers Service

while I wouldn’t ordinarily link to such a news item, that particular writer does semi-review all such services including why Yahoo Answers is performing better.

so be warned: another writer who hasn’t learned to be concise. but there are some nuggets in there.
