Canadian Universities by student body size  0

Posted on July 23rd, 2006. About .

Here is a treasure trove of Canadian university size. Unless I am mistaken, York University appears as the second largest university in Canada–which is a statistic that seems to wobble back and forth between second and third (after UoT).

At any rate, I calculate “student body size” as full-time undergraduates and graduates and part-time undergraduates and graduates (basically, the sum of all three columns):

By region:
East: Dalhousie 15,520
Quebec: UQAM 40,370
Ontario: UoT 71,500
West: UBC 45,805

A litte more detail:

Nova Scotia: Dalhousie 15,520
Quebec: UQAM (University of Quebec at Montreal) 40,370; McGill 32,090; Concordia 31,540
Ontario: University of Toronto 71,500; York 50, 700; University of Western Ontario 34,100; University of Ottawa 33,900; Ryerson 30,350; Waterloo 26,100; McMaster 24,600; Queen’s 21,400; Guelph 20,450
Manitoba: University of Manitoba 28,200
Alberta: University of Alberta 35,420; University of Calgary 27,710
BC: UBC 45,805; Simon Fraser 23,610; University of Victoria 18,620
