My first encounter with the film “Lost in Translation” was in a scathing review in a Japanese newspaper. I decided not to watch the movie not because of this, however, but because I basically lived the experience. But when I returned to Canada I checked it out: first time not liking it so much but a year later found it grew on me. Subtle and playful, not so like Coppala-senior.

Anyway, here is the original review with many insightful comments coming from Japanese and non-Japanese.

Facebook vs. MySpace  0

Okay, inspired by that article on MySpace & Libraries, I set up an account at both Facebook and MySpace. The former is more for universities while the latter services just about anyone. The author claims that getting a library card is easier than setting up an acct at MySpace. Not really. And not that anyone cares: the problem isn’t getting a card, the problem is the limited uses of cards after that.

Anyway, that’s not what I want to write about. I have only temporarily setup a MySpace acct just for comparison but I am intent on maintaining my Facebook account. I created one for Western and back-created one for McGill then merged it with the Western one to cover both my alumni bases.
