Huge meteor gave BIRTH to the dinosaur 0
Huge meteor strike that gave birth to the dinosaur is found beneath the Antarctic. They estimate it to have been 30 miles across–in comparison, the one said to have catalyzed the extinction of dinosaurs was just 6 miles across.
30 miles? good grief.
I also think it is interesting that the meteor is said to have given rise to the dinosaur species. Not sure about the details but eco-philospher Terrence McKenna has long argued that mushroom spores were carried in the dust particles of meteors to earth. His way of explaining how the god-hallucinogen gets around the galaxy.
I am not in a position to argue against either. However, it seems far more plausible to me that such things arise from impact and spark then just storage and board. I suppose the simpler of the two theories would tend toward the horse-and-cart theory. But it is like trying to play instellar billiards with balls the size of the dust and tables the size of solar systems. the chances of hitting are remote; the chances of hitting with life-sustaining atmospheres are remoters; and the chances of the same life continuing on its advanced way is remoter still. so which is the simpler theory now?
