Pool rules  0

Posted on June 29th, 2006. About .

This is a really interesting and observant article about all the rules of going to the pool in Japan. If you read between the lines you can
learn a lot about the Japanese ways of doing things.

I used to go a sports gym pool regularly and agree that much of what she writes is true. But not everything: there was no whistle to get out and rest. Also, I think a public pool in Honshu would necessarily differ from one in Hokkaido (since it is hot for such a short time up north).

Facebook Search  0

in contrast with the previous post, facebook.com does a very good job when searching names. while it doesn’t allow you to do exact matching it may do this automatically. in any case, i searched for myself and i was the first hit. it seems to understand that you want to search for people’s names…

the other thing to note is that you can search your friends’ friends but you cannot contact them if they are not in your network. it is an interesting innovation to privacy. the name and network appears but that is all you can do with it.
